Salary/Compensation: Business Grade 08 | BG-08
Tulsa Public Schools' existing salary schedules provide career increment adjustments based on education/experience and/or years of credible service. Additionally, our Board of Education recently approved salary & benefit increases for all qualifying positions. Position Summary: Working in partnership with the Executive Director of Communications and Strategy, the Communications Manager will provide day-to-day management and strategic oversight of district-level parent and staff communications, engagement, and system-wide messaging for Tulsa Public Schools. The communications manager will be the key point of connection between functional areas to ensure the success of significant district priorities. The manager will also be responsible, serving as a key cross-functional contact and partner, for supporting strong internal and external communication practices system-wide. This role will ensure that the district focuses on, elevates and consistently supports two-way parent and staff communication keeping families and team members informed and engaged. As needed, the manager will provide direct support to Team Schools with consistent messaging and materials, providing guidance on material development and ultimately reaching students and families in a timely manner.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
• Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, public relations, or related fields
Experience:
• Background in project management and managing complex, system-wide initiatives
• Training and experience in exceptional customer service practices
• Experience developing content for social media and marketing and public relations
collateral
• Five (5) years of working on project teams and/or managing projects or initiatives
involving a variety of stakeholders, preferably in a fast-paced environment
• Three (3) years' experience with social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and
Instagram with a proven success in expanding platforms reach and engagement
Specialized Knowledge, Licenses, Etc.:
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Office Suite
• Proficient in Spanish is preferred
