Position Description:
- 5 years of experience working in a professional HVACR, Plumbing, or Electrical setting is required.
- Currently hold or be willing to obtain a NCCER Instructor Certification.
- Experience working in commercial facility maintenance preferred but not required.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in training and teaching others.
- The work schedule for this position requires flexibility to work one to four nights per week, 6 - 10pm, as scheduled throughout the spring, summer and fall semesters.
Essential Job Functions for all ACD Instructors:
- Demonstrate extensive knowledge of and experience in the appropriate subject matter.
- Instruct students in competency-based program curriculum using current instructional strategies appropriate to the subject matter to assure highest quality classroom instruction.
- Effectively manage the classroom to create an optimal learning environment.
- Maintain up-to-date records of student attendance, academic progress and grades as required by district policy and certification/regulatory agencies.
- Ensure syllabus, supply list and lesson plans are current prior to each class taught.
- Demonstrate effective people skills, communication skills and professionalism (i.e. – prepared, reliable, responsible, punctual, etc.)
- Demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to the mission and goals of Tulsa Tech’s ACD program.
- Participate in professional development opportunities as required by the ACD department.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by management from time to time.
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
