Sunitna River LLC , is hiring a Business Development Specialist for it's location in Vienna, VA. The designated Business Development Specialist is singularly responsible for executing the business development strategy of identifying opportunities for Sunitna River, including but not limited to business process improvement and strategic planning for large-scale programs, including asset management, cybersecurity, threat intelligence, organizational planning, performance management, staff augmentation, and technical support. The candidate will also help develop proposals for these opportunities from "cradle to grave" to include working with a project team of subject matter experts, Program Managers, and staff. Exhibits competency and oversees / manages the timeline for each BD opportunity. This position will have a hybrid work schedule.

Responsibilities / Duties :

  • Define business strategies and goals.
  • Gather market data to develop business plans and present to senior management.
  • Develop and maintain client, potential client, and industry partner relationships, and

identifying and pursuing multiple marketing opportunities.

  • Participate in the proposal development process including strategies for responding to and preparing materials, templates, proofreading and editing drafts of documents.
  • Review proposals for technical content.
  • Required Skills and Experience :

  • Proven experience and in-depth knowledge of 8(a) programs particularly within Alaska Native Corporations (ANC), Native Hawaiian or Native American companies.
  • Strong ability to create and deliver clear, concise presentations tailored to executive and client audiences, demonstrating superior briefing and presentation skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders effectively.
  • Expertise in proposing, organizing, and implementing innovative process and productivity improvements to meet business objectives.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with a strong ability to organize, direct, and execute strategic initiatives.
  • Skilled in conducting detailed market research on competitors, customers, and industry trends, with insights into capabilities, pricing, profitability, and market share to support business decision-making.
  • Proficient in developing and implementing communication strategies aligned with market research to reach target audiences and advance strategic business objectives.
  • Ability to contribute to strategic business plans and marketing initiatives using the latest market research and competitive intelligence to optimize sales and profitability.
  • Experience preparing accurate sales forecasts, budgets, quotas, and other financial projections.
  • A strong understanding of federal contracting, government procurement processes, and compliance requirements relevant to 8(a) businesses.
  • Conducts customer visits, prepares, and performs product delivery presentations, provides product support, and performs other sales and marketing functions as needed. Coordinates sales effort with relevant Sunitna River personnel.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop written reports and action plans.

    Required Education :

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field.
  • Master's degree preferred.
