Tumwater Eye Center is an independently owned, innovative, two doctor eye care practice where eye care is our passion. The owners are local, allowing all decisions to be made quickly without Corporate restrictions. This position is a great opportunity for a recent college graduate in the field of medical or healthcare administration, or an individual with working knowledge of a modern medical/eye care office.
Patient Service Representative/Medical Receptionist Responsibilities:
- Professionally interact and communicate with patients via text , email & phone.
- Accurately verify patient demographics and insurance coverage.
- Appropriately schedule patients to maintain adequate patient flow.
- Perform patient interactions with discretion to follow HIPAA compliance.
- Utilize knowledge to forward patient's concerns to appropriate team members.
- Coordinate with team members to eliminate in-office waiting time.
- Create and maintain a clean and uncluttered work space and reception area.
- Monitor and maintain office equipment and supplies as needed.
- Understand and discuss office policies with patients.
Patient Service Representative/Medical Receptionist Requirements:
- College degree (advantageous, but not required).
- 2 years of experience at an eye care facility. (preferred).
- Exceptional communication skills: text/email messaging and phone etiquette.
- Ability to learn quickly through on the job experience.
- Meticulous attention to detail with the ability to multi-task.
- Self motivated, makes decisions without being told, requires minimal supervision.
- Strong organizational, administrative, and planning skills.
- Ability to work calmly and react effectively during emergency situations.
- Ability to use discretion while working with sensitive information.
- Quick learner of new computer programs, we use CrystalPM.
- Ability to work at a fast pace using appropriate time management skills.
- Consistent attendance for your work schedule, Monday-Friday 8am-5pm.
- Professional appearance. Uniforms required and provided after probation period.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 38 – 42 per week
