We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Product Developer to lead the development and design of innovative products while managing a team of junior developers/designers. This role combines hands-on product development expertise with strong leadership capabilities to ensure the delivery of high-quality products that align with company objectives. The Senior Product Developer will collaborate across departments, mentor junior team members, and drive continuous improvement in processes and outputs.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage and mentor a team of junior developers and designers, providing guidance, feedback, and support to foster their growth and professional development.
- Delegate tasks effectively while maintaining oversight of project timelines and deliverables.
- Facilitate regular team meetings to ensure alignment, address challenges, and share updates.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment that encourages creativity and excellence.
- Work with the project manager to update Gantt charts to keep timelines on track and the senior team informed of progress
- Strong understanding of budgetary constraints, general tooling costs, MOQs, amortization, opportunity costs, BOM development and other relevant metrics to successful product launches
- Lead the end-to-end product development process, from concept ideation to final delivery.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including marketing, sales, and production to define product requirements and specifications.
- Conduct research on market trends, customer needs, and competitor products to inform design and development strategies.
- Oversee prototyping, testing, and iteration to ensure product quality and performance.
- Ensure all products meet regulatory standards, quality benchmarks, and sustainability goals.
- Deep knowledge of most commonly known fastening methods to spec the most cost effective solution while maintaining all mechanical requirements for product stability (i.e. riveting, rivnuts, welding, bolting, blind riveting, semi-tubular riveting, buck rivets, spot welding, VHB bonding, adhesive bonding etc)
- Suggest process improvements and participate in lean manufacturing initiatives to enhance efficiency and product quality
- Draft Manufacturing Process maps and descriptions as needed
- Collaborate with senior engineers to assist in designing, developing and testing new truck camper models and accessories
- Perform any tasks requested as needed to move the operation forward
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Engineering, or a related field.
- 7 years of experience in product development, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Proven experience managing and mentoring junior team members.
- 5 years experience in Solidworks
- Excellent project management skills
- Experience in Smartsheets or similar
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse teams.
- Finite Element Analysis is desirable but not required
- Automotive or 4x4 background is a plus
- 2 years of experience communicating with vendors for RFQ’s, MOQs, value engineering suggestions, part revisions and modifications, QC feedback etc
- Proficient in Google Workplace (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, and Slides)
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive tasks
- Stand, bend, and reach for extended periods
- Comfortable working in various environmental conditions, including exposure to dust and noise

Pay
- $80,000-$110,000
