The mission of the Tunnel to Towers Foundation is to honor the sacrifice of firefighter Stephen Siller who laid down his life to save others on September 11, 2001. We also honor our military and first responders who continue to make the supreme sacrifice of life and limb for our country.
The Tunnel to Towers Foundation is committed to eradicating homelessness amongst our veterans. The Foundation is seeking an experienced Coordinator to source national and regional employment opportunities for Veterans in key demographic markets, assist in obtaining job opportunities and interviews for veterans, and assist in all employment matters as it relates our Homeless Veteran Program.
Applicants must be well organized, able to effectively multi-task within a timely fashion, possess a keen attention to detail, able to prioritize workload and handle sensitive information.
Duties and responsibilities
· Conduct initial intake and assessment of veteran client’s needs to understand their interests, skills, abilities and education.
· Conduct periodic re- assessments, to provide resources for further training, education, or apprenticeship programs to get clients “employment-ready”.
· Counsel Veteran applicants throughout the employment process and provide individualized coaching on employment related topics such as resume development and application submission.
· Ensure that all employment paperwork, such as applications and job offers are accurately completed and on time.
· Collaborate and maintain relationships with nationwide business leaders to identify employment opportunities and to serve as a dedicated point of contact between these organization’s and the Foundation’s Homeless Veteran Program.
· Attend job fairs and other networking events to source out additional employment opportunities.
· Identify and maintain a database with viable employment opportunities and develop a job bank that corresponds to the level of skills and education of the Veteran applicants.
· Conduct vocational assessments of each employment opportunity to determine the educational/employment requirements.
· Efficiently compile, format and submit information regarding the program outcomes, potential applications referred, applicants on-boarded, and hires to the Director of Social Services on a bi-weekly basis.
· Report monthly to Director of Social Services on a minimum of at least 10 new employment opportunities, and act as a liaison between the case management team and the employers to ensure efficient communication of opportunities and application criteria for each.
· Conduct follow-ups with employers and candidates after referral connections and address any issues that may arise.
· Assist in Foundation Events as needed.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree required.
· Nonprofit experience preferred.
· 3 years of experience in employment sourcing, recruiting, or on-boarding professionals in a corporate environment.
· Prior staffing, job development, and outreach development experience strongly preferred.
· Experience working with Veterans or other homeless populations preferred.
· Excellent computer literacy including Microsoft Office, Google sheets, etc.
· Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
· Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal relationship skills.
· Demonstrated ability to achieve high performance goals and meet deadlines.
· Ability to work independently in fast-paced environment and multi-task in a smart and timely fashion.
· Must be a team player and able to work in a collaborative environment.

Working conditions Special Working conditions may include: a change in days worked, shift hours, and/or working conditions (outdoors or other locations) when participating and assisting in special events such as: the NYC Tunnel to Towers Run, golf outings, and other fundraising events, as required.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
