Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Supplier Quality Assurance (Night Shift) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, with a strong understanding of GD&T, problem-solving, and manufacturing processes. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and suppliers to identify, contain, and resolve supplier quality issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with Supplier Quality Engineers (SQEs) to organize third-party inspections (suppliers) as requested and ensure the production line is protected from disruptions due to incoming supplier quality issues.
- Own containment activities for all supplier-related issues, including sorting/reworking parts, when necessary, to minimize impact on production.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, contain, resolve, and implement corrective actions for supplier quality issues.
- Responsible for daily reporting of key performance indicators (KPIs), including hours worked, items processed, and other relevant metrics.
- Participate in meetings and promptly investigate potential supplier quality issues, assigning ownership of defects and supporting teams with complex or major issues affecting quality or productivity.
- Conduct organizational cost and work reports for analysis and improvement purposes.
- Manage supplier liaisons/representatives at client’s factory, coordinating their support activities based on build plans and business needs.
- Jump on the production line when needed.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, preferably in quality, manufacturing, or process engineering roles, or leading production teams.
- Basic understanding of GD&T, problem-solving, and manufacturing processes.
- Strong communication skills, both verbally and written, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Very attentive towards detail
- Experience with supplier quality assurance in automotive or related industries is a plus.
