This position operates automatic and manual chemical process equipment of varying complexity in various production processes in accordance with operating procedures. It requires the use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided by the company be worn as required by the work area. This PPE may take the form of safety shoes, safety glasses, disposable gloves, chemical handling gloves, thermal gloves, full face respirator, N-95 masks, and chemical face shields. The ability to work safely in a complex, technical manufacturing environment, providing regular feedback on maintaining a safe work environment through behavior-based and situational observations. Participation in the employee safety committee and contributing to solutions is required.
Requirements
- Collect samples for Lab to Perform routine checks on chemicals in production.
- Perform routine chemical additions and water additions to maintain production line chemical tanks.
- Document and track activities with chemical and additions.
- Maintain cleanliness of strip line tanks & change outs.
- Monitor wastewater treatment system to ensure operation is consistent with quality standards and complying with all local, state, and federal regulatory criteria.
- Use of Equipment includes Holding / Filling tank machines, filter presses, Evaporators, Scrubbers, and pumps.
- Assist Director Facility Maintenance & HSE initiatives by inspecting, testing, or sampling waste generated by production.
- Processes may generate high pressure and / or critical reactions and will require training in hazardous material handling and emergency procedures.
- Prepare and coordinate Hazardous waste shipment and pickup.

- Order Chemicals and Maintain stock levels for production
- Order drums and Totes to maintain the process of Hazardous waste
- Responsible for the cleanliness and continuous operation of the water treatment system
- Responsible for Preparing and coordinating Hazardous waste shipment and pickup.
- Responsible for shop hazardous waste packaging per EPA requirements
- Responsible for shop hazardous waste onsite storage per EPA requirements.
- Responsible for shop hazardous waste manifesting for shipment per EPA requirements.
- Responsible for ensuring HS&E representative schedules hazardous waste shipments within EPA time limits after packaging.
At the discretion of the Director Facility Maintenance & HSE, the employee may be required to work in other facilities to help with performing same duties as above.
The physical demands often include prolonged standing, walking, lifting moderate to heavy weights, climbing stairs or ladders, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, and performing repetitive motions, while frequently working in potentially extreme temperatures and noisy environments, often requiring the ability to wear protective gear for extended periods.
