COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

Starting at $25-45 per hour (Based on Experience)

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Landscape Foreman (LF) plays a critical role in the construction of custom landscapes, serving as the foundation of the landscape production process. Leadership skills and the ability to mentor team members is vital. This position involves over-seeing the landscape crew and reports to the Project Manager to ensure each project is completed on time, within budget, while adhering to the highest quality standards. Given the nature of our work, which frequently includes custom designs and numerous change orders, the LF must possess advanced construction knowledge, and the capability to pivot quickly in response to evolving project needs. Having a clear understanding of the landscaping job process, utilizing staffing, equipment, and assets efficiently, and the skill to ensure Right-On-Time Deliveries. Your expertise will be essential in producing tailored solutions to meet our clients' unique visions. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, and holidays (when necessary).

KEY COMPENTENCIES/CAPABILITIES:

Project Management: Skills in planning, scheduling, and executing projects efficiently within budget and timelines.

Attention to Detail: Ensuring quality work and adherence to design specifications.

Tool and Equipment Proficiency: Expert knowledge of industry specific materials, horticultural practices, construction methods, tools, and equipment required to complete various landscape construction projects

Construction Math Skills: Competence to read and interpret construction drawings/ blueprints and specifications

Time Management: Excellent time management with the talent to work and produce results under pressure, tight deadlines and, at times, fast paced.

Attendance and Attitude: Reliable attendance with a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a commitment to creating inspiring landscapes.

Direction and Communication: Qualified to delegate and manage landscape crew on projects and communicate clearly expectations. Excellent problem-solving capacity, including being able to predict and anticipate pinch points while navigating through many job variables. Quick thinking and creativity in addressing challenges that arise on the job. Coordinate and direct inventory and materials through the complete supply chain process. Tracking and reporting of daily activities.

Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to federal, state, local, and industry regulations, as well as company standards and best practices.

Continuous Improvement: Commitment to personal development and ongoing training of crew members, fostering a culture of growth within the organization.

Additional Responsibilities: Perform other related duties as assigned, adapting to the dynamic needs of custom landscape projects.

Knowledge of Horticulture: Strong understanding of plants, soil, and landscape design to make informed decisions.

RECOMMENDED EXPERIENCE:

  • Landscape Construction Experience: 5-7 years in landscape installation or hardscape projects, with a focus on custom designs.
  • Crew Leadership: Proven skill to lead, coach, teach, train, and mentor the landscape crew in a collaborative environment.
  • Tool and Equipment Operation: Expert in various landscaping tools and machinery, including but not limited to excavators, skid steers, and laser levels.
  • Customer Interaction: Experience working directly with clients to understand their vision and deliver exceptional service.

RECOMMENDED EDUCATION:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent: Required; additional education in a related field is a plus.
  • 2 Yr - 4 Yr Degree or Bachelor’s Degree: Horticulture, Landscape Architecture, Construction. Relevant certifications in landscape design, horticulture, or construction (e.g., ICPI, NCMA) are preferred.
  • Continuing Education: Commitment to ongoing training and professional development in landscape trends and technologies.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS:

  • Strong Communication Skills: Ability to motivate and guide a team, ensuring clear communications and collaboration.
  • Problem-Solving Abilities: Capacity to adapt to changing project requirements and troubleshoot issues on-site.
  • Physical Fitness: Capability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
