The Flight Software Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing software that controls and manages spacecraft systems and operations. This role involves collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams to ensure that flight software meets performance, reliability, and mission-specific requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop flight software for spacecraft and satellite systems across all levels of the tech stack including :
Low level bootloader, file system, and kernel programming,
Embedded software programming and driver development,Implementation of algorithms and complex logic to manage spacecraft operations.Help architect and test flight software that is used on-board Turion’s fleet of satellites.Develop and execute test plans to validate flight software functionality. Perform integration and system-level testing to ensure software meets specifications.Identify and resolve software defects and performance issues. Optimize software to ensure efficient operation and minimal resource usage.Work with hardware engineers and systems engineers to integrate flight software with spacecraft hardware and systems. Ensure communication and functionality between software and hardware components.Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation for flight software, including design specifications, test plans, and user manuals. Ensure documentation is accurate and complies with company standards.Provide support for flight software during mission operations. Troubleshoot and resolve software issues that arise during testing and in-flight operations.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including systems engineers, hardware engineers, and mission planners, to address and resolve software-related issues.Benefits
