From Mission Control interfaces to customer-facing applications, your designs will directly influence space operations and the future of human-spacecraft interaction.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the UX/UI Design Process
- Own the end-to-end design process from research through implementation
- Create user flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity prototypes
- Conduct user research with spacecraft operators and customers
- Design systems that work across light/dark modes and varying screen sizes
- Create and maintain our design system
Frontend Implementation
- Translate designs into production-ready React components
- Build and maintain our component library using Storybook
- Implement responsive, accessible interfaces using Tailwind CSS
- Contribute to our shadcn/ui component ecosystem
Testing & Quality
- Write and maintain end-to-end tests using Playwright or Cypress
- Create visual regression tests
- Document component usage and guidelines
- Participate in UX reviews and user testing sessions
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- 3 years of experience in UX/UI design for complex applications
- Strong portfolio demonstrating user-centered design process
- Experience with Figma or similar design tools
- Basic proficiency with React and modern frontend tooling
- Experience designing for both desktop and mobile interfaces
- Strong understanding of accessibility standards and best practices
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Storybook for component documentation
- Tailwind CSS for styling
- shadcn/ui or similar component libraries
- End-to-end testing frameworks (Playwright/Cypress)
- Design systems and pattern libraries
- Figma prototyping and design handoff
- Dark mode interface design
- Data visualization design
- Error prevention in critical systems
- User research and usability testing
- Experience with:
- Mission control or industrial control system interfaces
- Real-time data visualization
- Design for AI/ML interfaces
- Design systems at scale
- Technical writing or documentation
- Motion design and microinteractions
- Interest in space technology and spacecraft operations
- Previous work on safety-critical or high-reliability system

- This position may include access to technology and/or software source code that is subject to U.S. export controls.
