The Direct Store Delivery Class A Relief Driver makes an impact by –
- Arrive at specified daily scheduled starting time.
- Responsible for driving vehicle in a safe and courteous manner per established Fleet Safety guidelines.
- Load and unload product as required and responsible for the proper placing of product delivered to customer. Rotates delivered products when required.
- Complete an inventory of designated products for required customers.
- Responsible to complete and return all necessary paperwork including, signed proof of deliveries, credit memos and route summaries.
- Communicate all customer concerns to Team Leader/Supervisor.
- Maintain a professional relationship with all customers.
- Review customer orders and verify invoice and delivered products for accuracy.
- Responsible to collect payment for deliveries, when required, and submit all payments received to the Route Settlement Office upon completion of route.
- Ensure cargo area is at proper temperature level.
- Available for varied scheduled work hours as assigned.
- Required to wear only authorized uniform during working hours.
- Maintain good housekeeping principles within truck cab and cargo area.
- Report all mechanical problems to Garage department. Responsible to complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections and forward copies to assigned location. Fuel vehicle as required.
- Maintain Electronic Logging Device (ELD) to log daily activity and adhere to all applicable hours of service requirements according to Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
- Perform all duties in compliance with all corporate and regulatory quality, GLP, and safety regulations.
- Perform all duties within established Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and FSMA guidelines as well as all safety regulations.
- Support the development, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of the Safe Quality Foods (SQF) Food Safety and Quality.
- Demonstrates the ability to engage work in department and cross-functional teams to define and implement process improvements that provide value to the customer.
- Be accountable to the Turkey Hill Food Safety and Quality Principles.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- Must be at least 21 years of age

Requirements

- General Health: Drivers must be in good overall health, free from medical conditions that could impair their ability to drive safely.
- Vision: Drivers must have at least 20/40 vision in each eye, with or without correction, and a field of vision of at least 70 degrees in the horizontal meridian in each eye. They must also be able to recognize the colors of traffic signals.
- Hearing: Drivers must be able to perceive a forced whisper at a distance of at least 5 feet, with or without a hearing aid.
- Blood Pressure and Pulse: These must be within normal ranges to ensure cardiovascular health.
- Physical Abilities: Drivers must be able to walk, bend, push, pull, twist, squat, and kneel daily.
- Drug and Alcohol Testing: Drivers must pass a pre-employment drug screen and are subject to random testing throughout their employment1.
- The employee is required to talk and/or hear in a manufacturing setting where noise levels are high (PPE required).
- The employee is required to wear mandated PPE based on assigned job area.
- The employee is frequently required to stand and walk in an manufacturing environment for 8 hours.
- The employee must be able to ascend and descend stairs, and where applicable and when necessary, to perform various job-related tasks.
- Must be able to position self to move, reach with arms/hands, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed to perform various job-related tasks.
- The employee must be able to inspect all job-related equipment (office or floor) to ensure it is in good working condition prior to use. Must be able to use hands/fingers to handle (or feel) to operate various types of office equipment.
- Must be able to operate all job-related equipment (powered, hand or office) as required.
- Vision requirements: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception and adjust focus.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and/or push/pull 50 pounds on a regular basis.
