What are the responsibilities and job description for the Park Aide position at Turlock Irrigation District?
JOB SUMMARY
Under general supervision to perform various tasks to support the operation, maintenance and administrative departments of the Don Pedro Recreation Agency (DPRA).Perform routine public contact work, operate park entrance stations, collect fees (computer terminal operation), cash handling, register visitors, make campsite assignments, provide emergency response procedures, and patrol campgrounds for rules and regulation enforcement. May be required to provide emergency dispatch.
Assist in keeping the facilities clean and orderly within the recreation area. This may include custodial tasks such as garbage pickup and disposal, recycling program, restroom cleaning and maintenance repairs. Responsibilities may require the use of various equipment and hand tools for tasks such as mowing, plumbing, wastewater and drinking water facilities, carpentry, gas powered weed eater operation and painting.
Assists in Agency Lake Operations, which may include operating a vessel independently to mark hazards, adjust docks, maintain regulatory buoy lines and floating restrooms, public contact work in permit compliance and collection of lakeshore camping fees.
May assist in the supervision and training of temporary workers.
Perform other related duties as required or assigned by supervisor.QUALIFICATIONS
Any combination of experience and education that would likely provide the required skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the skills and abilities would be:
Education
High school diploma or equivalent is required. Associate’s Degree preferred. Job-related certifications combined with experience may be considered.
Experience
Minimum of one (1) season in a Park and Recreation environment. Three (3) or more seasons preferred.
Skills and Abilities
Interpersonal and Communication:
Ability to: follow oral and written instructions; and establish and maintain cooperative relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
Technical and Analytical:
Ability to: problem solve, make sound judgement and learn all principles and practices of DPRA’s technical applications
Administration and Operations:
Knowledge of District organization, procedures and operations. Ability to interpret and apply District regulations and procedures.
Ability to: perform labor intensive workNecessary Special Requirements
Possession of an appropriate California driver’s license.

This position may require a medical examination to determine medical fitness for performing the duties assigned to the position or classification.
