YOUR LIFE AS A RESIDENTIAL SERVICES ASSISTANT COORDINATOR
The typical schedule for this position is swing shifts 2 pm-10 pm, including at least one weekend day. In addition, the program assistant must have flexibility and availability to respond to the program in the event of an emergency, such as covering a shift or a medical emergency. This may include working a day, afternoon, evening, overnight, and on the weekends, as well as assisting with and attending all program parties (holiday parties, events, etc.)
This Assistant position is over the Desert Lily Residential Group Home in St. George. This position supports up to 8 clients and 8 DSPs. The individuals in this program love to be out, explore, try new things, and just have fun. The Assistant will plan and assist individuals to attend city activities, plays, concerts, go out to eat, go shopping, and many other fun experiences.
The Assistant will play an integral part in working with clients daily to assist individuals with social skills, behavior management, communication, safety, cooking, cleaning, meal preparation, recreation and leisure opportunities and various other skills and needs to learn independence in their lives.
In this position, it will be necessary to assist with daily transfers which includes lifting up to 50 pounds, personal hygiene care, including assistance with changing and showering, medical appointments, medications, various other medical supports, transportation to various locations, and financial supports, record keeping, tracking expenses and receipts and online banking
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
- 6 months of experience working with individuals with Developmental/intellectual disabilities
- Ability to complete required training within 3 months of employment
- Ability to produce and review typed business letters, reports, and accurate numerical records
- Personal and reliable transportation
- Valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and proof of insurance
- Driving large program buses and vans as well as being willing to train new employees to drive large vehicles.
- Basic computer skills
- Leadership skills
