Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Low Voltage Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of low voltage systems, including security systems, telecommunication networks, and computer networking solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of system design and cabling techniques, as well as experience with various technologies related to low voltage applications.
Duties
- Install and configure low voltage systems including security systems, telecommunication networks, and computer networking setups.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on existing low voltage systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions for system design and implementation.
- Work with schematics to accurately install cabling and other components in accordance with industry standards.
- Utilize remote access software for system diagnostics and support.
- Maintain documentation of installations, repairs, and modifications made to systems.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices while working on-site.
Experience
- Proficiency in computer networking principles and practices is preferred.
- Strong background in cabling techniques and installation methods.
- Familiarity with security systems including intrusion detection systems (IDS) is preferred.
- Knowledge of computer hardware components and their integration into low voltage systems is beneficial.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics effectively to facilitate installations.
- Previous experience in system design or telecommunication services will be advantageous.
