What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of HSEQ position at Turn Services?
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead and manage a team of safety professionals and other staff if allocated in collaboration with Operations Management to ensure regulatory compliance and promote best practices in areas of safety, quality, and environmental.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with OSHA, MSHA, USCG, DEQ, EPA, and other relevant regulatory agencies to include DOT, if applicable.
- Administer and monitor the company’s Drug and Alcohol Program, including data tracking, compliance, and certification.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate company-wide HSQE strategies, policies, and training initiatives for vessels and facilities.
- Assists with all company related audits as it relates to areas of oversight conducted by customers
- Coordinates vessel/site-based safety and emergency response readiness plans with exercise activities with vessel personnel.
- Conduct incident investigations and ensure accurate reporting, root cause analysis, and follow-up on corrective and preventive actions for vessels and facilities.
- Maintain and analyze OSHA 300 logs and drug testing data to identify trends and develop mitigation strategies.
- Provide ongoing tracking and documentation of safety data, training completion, inspections, and action items, including hazard hunts, and safety meetings.
- Coordinate with Human Resources, Risk/Claims, Training, and Operation departments to assess and address accident and health risks.
- Conduct AED inspections and annual fire extinguisher certifications across all facilities.
- Collaborate with the Training and Risk Departments to identify training needs and ensure timely execution of required training programs.
- Assist in the maintenance of interactions with regulatory agencies and customers regarding HSQE matters, including maintaining compliance portals (e.g., ISNetworld, DISA, Avetta).
- Support continuous improvement through quality and safety audits, risk assessments, and program evaluations for both vessels and facilities.
- Manage the Environmental Protection and Security Programs, including relevant permit inspections and best practice implementation.
- Develop and maintain accurate job descriptions for department personnel, monitor and assign training related to subordinates.
- Provide regular reporting on HSQE performance and participate in long-range planning and goal-setting activities with Risk and Operations.
- Manage safety tracking and notification systems as necessary
- Creates and coordinates distribution of all safety related alerts.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or executive leadership.
