Role Overview:
We are looking for a strategic and detail-oriented Operations Manager to lead all aspects of downstream operations. This role coordinates production activities with co-packers, ensures inventory readiness, manages procurement, and acts as a key cross-functional partner across warehouse, supply chain, finance, and sales.
The Operations Manager plays a critical role in production execution and cost management, owning the end-to-end process from material planning to finished goods delivery, all while maintaining strong vendor relationships and margin accountability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage order fulfillment and production planning based on bill of materials (BOM)
- Coordinate with warehouses and co-packers to align on material availability and production timelines
- Resolve material shortages through ERP checks, warehouse reconciliation, or coordination with supply chain
- Maintain and communicate robust production schedules; adjust plans in response to changes in demand or material availability
- Source and manage domestic vendors (e.g., terpenes, oil) for quality, lead time, and cost control
- Negotiate input pricing and communicate changes across finance, sales, and supply chain
- Lead cross-functional initiatives to improve processes and reduce costs
- Partner with Finance to draft and manage supply agreements as needed
- Own production cost planning, risk mitigation, and forecasting of key inputs
Requirements:
- Typically requires 5–8 years of experience in CPG or manufacturing operations, or a demonstrated track record of success in a comparable role
- Proven experience managing co-packers and production timelines
- Deep understanding of BOM workflows and ERP systems (Odoo a plus)
- Strong vendor management, negotiation, and communication skills
- Analytical mindset and ability to lead in a cross-functional environment
