Client Accounting Specialist | Fully Remote | Professional Services
Our client, a prestigious global professional services firm, is looking for an experienced Client Account Specialist to join their dynamic accounting team. This fully remote position offers a flexible 37.5-hour workweek, eligibility for overtime pay, and abundant opportunities for professional growth within the client accounting department.
Position Summary:
The Client Accounting Specialist supports client account managers and supervisors with comprehensive billing responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all billing activities for assigned professionals, including distribution, logging, preparation, processing, and issuing of client invoices.
- Provide timely, accurate assistance to professionals, clients, and internal staff to resolve complex billing inquiries through analysis and adjustments.
- Research billing history and respond effectively to inquiries.
- Support and train new professionals on billing processes as required.
- Prepare and file monthly billing documents for electronic archiving.
- Review and summarize client engagement agreements related to financial arrangements.
- Maintain special fee structures, cost rates, and client database accurately.
- Perform other billing and administrative duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- 2-3 years of billing experience within a professional services or law firm setting (required).
- Intermediate to advanced Excel proficiency.
- Ability to work overtime when necessary.
- Strong foundational knowledge in billing practices, accounting procedures, billing rates, and client management processes.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate or Bachelor's degree.
- Previous experience in law firm environments.
- Experience using billing systems such as 3E or Aderant.
- Familiarity with electronic billing.
- 10-key data entry proficiency.
