Overview:
Our client is seeking a Payroll Manager to oversee the payroll processing for an organization with over 1,000 employees. This role will manage weekly and bi-weekly payrolls, benefits administration, and ensure compliance with payroll laws and regulations. The Payroll Manager will be integral to maintaining payroll accuracy, handling employee inquiries, and working closely with the finance department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and process weekly and bi-weekly staff payrolls, including taxes, garnishments, and accruals.
- Serve as the point of contact for payroll-related inquiries from employees.
- Ensure accurate documentation and compliance for leave benefits (STD, LTD, FMLA).
- Maintain payroll records and track vacation and sick leave accruals.
- Stay updated on legal and regulatory changes affecting payroll.
- Educate staff on payroll-related processes and maintain proper documentation for compensation adjustments.
- Assist with special projects and ensure accurate, timely filings and employee record maintenance.
- Represent the organization in hearings or investigations as required.
Key Qualifications:
- 4-year degree in Business, Accounting, or related field preferred.
- 5-10 years of progressive finance experience, with at least 5 years in payroll management.
- Experience managing complex union payrolls is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with Lawson and UKG payroll systems is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, and benefits administration.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and work both independently and as part of a team.
Salary : $40 - $60
