Payroll Specialist (Multi-State Payroll) - Join Our Team!
We are seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist with 3-5 years of multi-state payroll processing experience to join our dynamic team. If you're proficient in processing weekly payroll using UKG Ready and have a strong understanding of garnishment calculations and tax processing, this is the opportunity for you! This key role ensures accurate and timely pay for employees, while maintaining compliance with all payroll regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Payroll Processing: Process weekly payroll for multi-state employees using UKG Ready. Review and reconcile payroll discrepancies.
- Garnishments & Deductions: Calculate and process garnishments, levies, child support, and other deductions according to legal requirements.
- Tax Compliance: Prepare and process state and federal payroll tax filings, including 941, 940, and state unemployment returns. Stay updated on tax law changes.
- Reporting & Auditing: Generate and analyze payroll reports for management review. Conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Employee Support: Address payroll-related inquiries and educate employees on policies, deductions, and tax impacts.
- System & Process Improvement: Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to identify opportunities for payroll process improvements. Participate in system upgrades and testing for UKG Ready.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3-5 years of multi-state payroll processing experience.
- Proficiency in UKG Ready (formerly Kronos Workforce Ready) or similar payroll software.
- In-depth knowledge of garnishment calculations and state/federal payroll tax regulations.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to explain complex payroll matters to employees.
- CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) certification is a plus.
