SUMMARY
TurnAround is seeking PRN, part-time and full-time Behavioral Health Technicians to join our brand new residential services team where we provide state-of-the-art trauma-focused treatment (evaluation, therapy, case management services) to children ages 13- 17 and their families in the aftermath of exposure to human trafficking and complex trauma. The Behavioral Health Technician is responsible for implementing and following each resident’s treatment plan to ensure that the therapeutic needs of all residents are met. The Behavioral Health Technician is responsible for following procedures for residential daily living, education programs and ensuring the safety and health of all residents. The Behavioral Health Technician facilitates individualized and group activities and programs to ensure that each resident receives therapeutic, educational, and personal care.
CLASSIFICATION: Hourly
STARTING SALARY: $20.00 per hour (based on education and experience)
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides therapeutic and/ or behavioral support to children and youth participating in the residential program.
- Implement daily activities, individual plan treatment goals, and monitoring resident behavior.
- Assist in monitoring resident’s skills in daily living skills, including but not limited to personal hygiene, dressing, selection of appropriate clothing, and care and maintenance of all personal possessions.
- Assist in supporting healthy eating behaviors of all residents by preparing (including cooking) meals and snacks.
- Assist in monitoring and increasing resident life skills development.
- Develop, implement, and participate in all resident activities and outings, including recreational activities, education and vocational training.
- Transport residents using TurnAround vehicles.
- Provide assistance to volunteers and interns that are in the program.
- Actively participate in residential meetings and formal multidisciplinary team meetings to review progress of residents and discharge planning. Participate in training programs pertinent to the program’s mission to successfully work with the assigned resident population.
- Maintain the order, cleanliness, and maintenance of the resident physical plant, including participation in care and maintenance of designated spaces in the home.
- Administer and monitor resident’s medications and help ensure residents receive medical attention for routine issues and emergencies.
- Communicate and document appropriate information to members of each resident’s multi-disciplinary treatment team.
- Following each resident’s treatment plan to ensure that the therapeutic needs of all residents are met.
- Assist in providing crisis prevention/intervention support.
- Crisis management: Implement safety and security protocols and respond to emergencies as they arise as well as monitoring the premises for any safety hazards.
- Document notes regarding client participation, task completion include documenting any and all emergency situations, incident reporting, and shift summaries.
- Be available to work nontraditional work hours, weekends/ overnights.
- Must receive all required and ongoing training and follow all procedures of the residential program for the safety and health of all residents.
- Behavioral Health Technicians report to the Residential Shift Supervisor.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be age 21 or over.
- Possess proof of High School diploma or its equivalent as a minimum.
- 2 years of experience in a residential setting serving children and youth.
- Pass criminal background check, provide driving history record, and a medical clearance from qualified physician.
- Become a certified Residential Child and Youth Care Practitioner within 6 months of hire.
- Experience implementing positive behavioral intervention and support to children and youth.
- Knowledge of database management systems.
- Ability to work evenings/overnights/weekend shifts.
- Bi-lingual highly encouraged to apply.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This position performs its’ duties routinely onsite in a residential setting for children. Staff working in a residential setting are exposed to the possibility of vicarious trauma and victim trauma response by working with residents impacted by trauma and sexual violence. Other possible exposure risk includes narcotics, alcohol, pests, and of Bloodborne Pathogens.
HOURS: Position is hourly, shifts consist of daytime shift, mid-day to evening shift, overnight shift, and weekend shifts.

- Ability to operate phone system, virtual, and security systems and monitors.
- Ability to operate appliances in a residential setting.
