Help adolescents recover from mental health and substance use challenges at an 18-bed residential treatment center for 14- to 17-year-old boys on a beautiful property in Woodbury, Connecticut.
Turnbridge is hiring an Associate Clinician (LMSW, LMFTA or LPC-A) for this program, where your skills and care transform young people’s lives. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone that has just graduated with their Masters and that is looking to gain experience in a residential setting.
Primary job duties include:
- First and foremost, provide the best individual, group, and family therapy to each client
- Manage a caseload of four to five clients from admission to discharge
- Engage meaningfully with families and referents
- Be a leader on the team
The schedule for this Associate Clinician will be Tuesday through Friday 12pm to 8pm and Saturday 10am to 6pm. Additionally, an on-call rotation exists among several clinical team members. More information will be shared in the interview process.
Job Description:
We are looking for a master's level clinician who works closely with our clients and families, engages in a variety of interventions with them, and supports the team approach to treatment in Woodbury.
- Engages in one-to-one client support during times of stress or escalation
- Updates families on various matters; provides coverage for group, individual, and family therapy when a clinician is sick or on vacation, in addition to completing clients' concurrent reviews for a clinician who's out
- Works alongside a team of providers, sharing observations and guidance on clients and their families
- Working closely with the Care Team Director to identify clients in need of support or current community challenges
- Participating in individual and group activities with clients to build rapport
- Creating activities and opportunities for clients to connect as a community
- Supporting clients and utilizing de-escalation strategies during times of distress
- Leading peer mediations between clients in conflict
- Ability to run groups
- Provide direct therapeutic services
A typical day could include:
- Checking in with clients throughout the week to support their treatment journey and provide insight on client needs to the rest of the care team
- Helping clients talk through stressors
- Calls to families to share about our work with the teen and provide parent coaching where appropriate
- Helping new clients feel more comfortable
- Engaging in client-to-client mediations to help peers build relationship
- Documenting client support and interventions for data collection
Education
Required- Masters or better in Social Work or related field
