Position Description: Support Innovation Department initiatives and activities through research, evaluation, and documentation of emerging technologies and strategic business opportunities.
Reports to: Engineer, Project Engineer or Project Manager
Essential Duties & Responsibilities*:
- Learn about emerging technologies through guided research and hands-on experience
- Assist in testing capabilities of emerging AI tools including by developing code for prototypes and proof of concepts
- Support innovation initiatives for internal deployment and implementation of new technologies and products
- Assist in researching early-stage startups as well as emerging markets of interest to company
- Support evaluation of technologies through structured testing and documentation
- Help prepare technical materials demonstrating technology applications and findings
- Collect, organize, and maintain Innovation Department data and documentation under supervision
- Assist in documenting Innovation workshop outputs, meeting minutes, and innovation project updates
- Support coordination of Innovation Department activities, including scheduling meetings and workshops
- May perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree from accredited degree program in Business, Engineering, Innovation Management, or related field.
· Interest in construction, innovation and emerging technologies
· Relentlessly curious, continuous learner, and takes initiative to explore and ask questions
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
· Highly organized, and ability to coordinate concurrent projects
· Able to work independently and in collaboration with others in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
· Professional verbal and written communication skills
· Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office suite of applications, and programming tools such as Python, Java, or other languages relevant to innovation projects.
· Limited travel

Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee works on-site at the constructionworksite where the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. The noise in this work environment is usually moderate to very loud.
