***Project Location/Travel: This opportunity is for an
advanced technology project in Northern Louisiana. Travel or relocation for the
duration of the project is required.*** Position Description: Coordinate and supervise surveying tasks and resources throughout project lifecycle. Essential Duties & Key Responsibilities: • Coordinate and supervise surveying tasks throughout project duration. • Identify drawing discrepancies within building layout. • Establish baseline-building controls and work points; calculate, coordinate, and layout points with accuracy, based on project documents. • Ensure coordinated work between trades utilizing discipline contract drawings, shop drawings, and submittals. • Conduct As-Built Surveys and prepare electronic data for submission to owner. • Engage, interact, and coordinate work with other trades. • Conduct daily inspection of surveying equipment and track equipment calibrations. • Perform maintenance and clean surveying equipment to ensure equipment is ready for next day’s work. • Inventory and order surveying supplies. • Ensure security of equipment while conducting surveying operations. • Develop and submit project billings based on established service rates and actual services performed. • Develop work schedules and crew assignments. • Assist with overall site safety and quality programs and ensure compliance of trade employees and subcontractors in accordance Turner standards, applicable safety codes, regulations, and jobsite security. • Complete time sheets, production tracking/management, extra work tickets, daily construction reports, and required safety paperwork daily, as directed. • Demonstrate leadership qualities, promote teamwork in daily operations, and maintain positive working relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers, and other employees. • Supervise employees, address complaints, resolve problems, develop trade employees, provide timely feedback, and contribute to or complete performance appraisals. • Travel and accommodate night and weekend work as needed. • Other activities, duties, and responsibilities as assigned. |
- Qualifications:
• High school diploma, 3 years of surveying experience required, and 2 years supervisory experience • OSHA 30-hour certification required • Expert knowledge and use of surveying equipment • Proficient in CAD or other surveying-based program for calculating coordinates • Read, understand, and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and project schedule • Leadership, supervisory, interpersonal skills, and ability to communicate effectively in emergency situations • Proficient skills using Smart Phone/iPad for communication requirements and other job-related systems and applications • Comprehend safety instructions, signage, and understand written safety instructions from tool and equipment manufacturers Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
