TURNER COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE Deputy Sheriff Opening Turner County has a population of 8500 people and 619 square miles. We are just southwest of Sioux Falls, as close as 5 miles to the county line. We provide 24/7 coverage, take home cars (in county Deputies), and employ 8 full time deputies. We promote a family atmosphere, positive attitudes, and proactive policing. We want to provide our deputies to any training opportunities that are available to better themselves.

The Turner County Sheriff’s Office has an immediate opening for a Deputy Sheriff position. The Deputy performs varied first-level law enforcement duties involving the protection of life and property; the enforcement of laws and ordinances; the maintenance of order and the investigation of crime. The opening requires working weekdays, weekends, nights, and holidays. The following are minimum requirements for the position: High School Diploma/GED, valid driver’s license, certified law enforcement officer in South Dakota, or be eligible to be certified through the law enforcement academy.
