What are the responsibilities and job description for the Highway Maintenance Worker position at Turner County?
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Class A Commercial Driver's License or ability to obtain within 60 days of employment
Ability to operate heavy equipment and power tools
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions
Responsibilities
Perform routine maintenance on county roads, including grading, patching, snow removal, culvert replacements, and bridge repair
Operate heavy equipment such as trucks, loaders, graders, excavators, and backhoes
Assist with road construction projects as needed
Inspect roads for damage and safety hazards, and make necessary repairs
Assist with traffic control during road closures or maintenance activities
Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe work environment
Perform snow and ice removal procedures
Additional hours may occur during emergencies and inclement weather
Candidates must be willing to relocate to Turner County.
