What are the responsibilities and job description for the Security Officer position at Turner Job Corps Center?
- Ensure the physical security of buildings and property by checking doors, windows, lights, electrical appliances, equipment, locks and emergency equipment. Maintain log of findings and corrective action taken.
- Perform administrative functions such as entering and maintaining daily logs, incident reports and conducting investigations as directed.
- Assure accountability (protocol) of student check-in and out (to and from center grounds).
- Perform parking and traffic control duties; check identification of personnel and students seeking entrance to or exit from grounds and permit or deny entrance or exit according to established policies and procedures.
High school diploma or equivalent and one year security experience. Prefer experience with the United States Armed Forces, or an organized police department or firefighting organization. Experience with youth, excellent written and verbal communication skills and computer proficiency required. Ability to occasionally lift and carry student luggage weighting 50-70 lbs. and frequently climb stairs and walk outdoors on uneven terrain. If requested by management, may be required to have a valid commercial license. Must maintain current CPR and first aid certification. Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
