Job Description

The BUUSD is seeking a Special Education Prek Paraeducator to work at Barre City Elementary and Middle School with prekindergarten students.

Responsibilities will vary depending on the assignment but typically include:

• 1:1 support and/or 1:2 classroom support
• Eyes-on supervision during class, transition times, and lunch;
• Redirection;
• Data collection;
• Follow and support IEP plans and provide feedback to the team
• Consultation and communication with teachers and case manager.
  
  

This job comes with a full benefits package. The starting pay rate for this position is $19.25 to $20.25 depending on experience and education.

Job Requirements

• Previous experience working with prek children and early education training/education preferred.
  
  

Applicants that have no education in early childhood education will be required to take a child development course offered through the local community college within 1 year of hire as required by the Vermont Child Development Division.

Applicants must have a high school degree/GED and successfully complete a Paraeducator Assessment. This assessment is administered by appointment at the BUUSD Central Office.

OR

An Associate's Degree/minimum of 48 undergraduate credits.

The pay range is $19.25 to $20.25 depending on education level and experience.

• At least 1 year(s) of relevant experience preferred.
• High School/Trade School degree preferred.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required
