Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Heavy Equipment Operator with experience in excavator, loader, and/or utility operation to join our team in the Miami, FL. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of safely and efficiently operating heavy machinery in a mining environment.
As a Heavy Equipment Operator, you will be responsible for operating excavators, loaders, and/or utility vehicles to support mining operations, ensuring the safe and efficient movement of materials and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate excavators, loaders, and utility vehicles safely and effectively in accordance with company policies and industry standards.
- Perform excavation, loading, and material handling tasks as required.
- Monitor equipment performance and conduct routine maintenance checks to ensure proper functioning.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to minimize risks and accidents.
- Work closely with other crew members and supervisors to ensure smooth operation of mining activities.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring the equipment is in top condition.
- Troubleshoot minor mechanical issues and report major issues to the maintenance team.
- Assist with site preparation, including grading, trenching, and other earth-moving activities.
- Ensure compliance with environmental and regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
- Proven experience operating heavy equipment, specifically excavators, loaders, and/or utility vehicles in a mining environment.
- Strong knowledge of mining operations and the safe handling of equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and blueprints.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and address equipment issues.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in outdoor environments and varying weather conditions.
- Commitment to maintaining high safety standards and following procedures.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in remote or challenging environments.
- Additional certifications related to heavy equipment operation (e.g., MSHA).
