Turner & Townsend are seeking a Project Controls Manager responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of project controls for large-scale data center construction projects. This role involves providing leadership and support for planning, scheduling, cost control, risk management, and performance tracking throughout the construction lifecycle. The Project Controls Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the specified quality standards.
Job Description
Work as part of Global PMO team responsible for Network Infrastructure (Fiber) construction projects.
- Work with global stakeholders for strategic portfolio level planning and reporting activities.
- Coordinate with project teams on tactical project specific project controls needs.
- Assist with annual planning activities.
- Oversee and facilitate as required for project set-up, budget allocation, schedule templates etc.
- Produce and present project controls reports to senior management, outlining progress, risks, and key issues.
- Monitor and track project performance against key metrics such as schedule adherence, cost performance, and quality standards.
- Produce regular performance reports for project stakeholders, highlighting key achievements and areas of concern.
- Work closely with the project team, including project managers, engineers, contractors, and vendors, to ensure alignment with project objectives.
- Facilitate project meetings and provide necessary project controls information to assist in decision-making.
- Collaborate with other departments (e.g., procurement, construction, engineering) to ensure integration of all aspects of the project controls function.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies during project execution.
- Support project team in maintaining quality control standards for construction and commissioning activities.
- Ensure the timely review of contractor progress reports and documentation, verifying that all required approvals and certifications are in place.
- Understand the specific requirements of data center construction, including CSA, electrical and mechanical components.
- Implement controls that address the unique needs and challenges of building complex, mission-critical data center facilities.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. PMP, AACE, or similar certifications are a plus.
5 years of experience in project controls, with ideally at least 2 years in managing large-scale construction programs (preferably data center construction).
Proven experience in cost management, scheduling, and risk management for complex construction projects.
Strong knowledge of project controls software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project, Procore, Aconex, or similar).
Advanced knowledge of project management principles, including cost estimation, risk analysis, and schedule management.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Strong leadership and team-building skills.
Detail-oriented, with a focus on accuracy and quality.
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Proactive and results-driven with a focus on continuous improvement.
Additional Information
The salary range for this full-time role is $130K-$160K per year. Ranges are determined by role and level and represent a good faith effort to provide a fair and equitable salary. This range is a reflection of base salary only, not of a total compensation package.
