Turner & Turner Contracting, LLC is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator (preferably with excavator and long reach experience) to join our team! The Heavy Equipment Operator will be responsible for full operations and maintenance of company equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maneuver and manipulate equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, cranes, graders, and forklifts.
- Transport earth or other materials, erecting and installing construction materials, and laying down roadbeds
- Maintain safety standards, inspecting machines, and performing basic repairs
- Operate heavy equipment in compliance with the company's operating safety policies and procedures.
- Detect and fix operating problems.
- Load and unload equipment from vehicles and trailers.
- Ensure that all machinery and tools are available to the crew, and everything is in proper order.
- Conduct periodic inspections and maintenance of construction equipment and tools to ensure everything is in working condition.
- Ensure company equipment, materials, and work sites are maintained, kept clean, and stored in a safe manner.
- Complete required paperwork, reporting, and other documentation.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Required Skills:
- 5 years’ experience operating heavy equipment.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to read manuals and blueprints/plans.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent eye/hand/foot coordination.
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Commercial Driver’s License preferred.
