Turning Point Behavioral Health Care Center seeks individuals to serve on our Mobile Crisis Response team as Mental Health Professionals (MHP). The Mobile Crisis Response MHP is a member of Turning Point’s crisis intervention team. MHPs are part of the dyad in regard to assisting individuals experiencing escalation of a mental health crisis. The MCR MHPprovides crisis intervention by sharing supportive steps towards assisted de-escalation, and guided steps to de-stressing for members of the Community and in-house guests. MCR responds 24-hours a day 365 days a year either through the crisis phone line or in-person within Turning Point or in the community. The MCR worker will be available to provide mental health crisis interventions to anyone, anywhere and at any time within Turning Point and the 13 zip codes of the MCR catchment area. This position requires being available for 24/7/365 coverage and work a 40-hour work week. The MCR staff will rotate on weekends, overnights and holidays to provide 24/7/365 coverage.

Mobile Crisis Response is an alternative to a Hospital Emergency Department for people experiencing acute psychiatric crisis. Due to the staffing structure of the MCR Team it is crucial that notice of anticipated absences be given as soon as possible so that coverage can be obtained. The MCR Worker is a member of Turning Point’s crisis intervention team, providing crisis intervention and support to individuals experiencing mental health crises, who call the 24-hour crisis line or present in-person to Turning Point. The MCR worker will be available to provide crisis intervention to anyone, anywhere and at any time. Team members will actively engage people in community settings, implementing and maintaining new collaborations with community stakeholders, such as first responders, local public services, and other non-profit organizations.

In this position, we are considering candidates whose minimum educational achievement is a Bachelor's Degree.

All positions require maintaining a valid Driver’s License, and the function of this program will be 24 hours per day/365 days per year, so all candidates must be willing to work night, holiday, and weekend shifts as scheduled. Overnight coverage will be scheduled on rotation.

Duties/Responsibilities:

· Crisis workers will provide crisis intervention services, including information gathering, assessment, brief skill-based interventions, and safety planning, with the goal of immediate symptom reduction, and stabilization.

· Crisis workers will determine and facilitate clients to the appropriate level of mental health care.

· Crisis workers will assess and engage with individuals experiencing psychosis and substance abuse.

· Crisis Workers will work with first responders (police) and other community members (faith-based organizations, county, and city employees, etc.)

· Crisis worker will be responsible for assessing clients for safety (suicidal/homicidal ideations/plans/gestures/means/intent).

· Crisis workers will be responsible for completing safety plans with clients when hospitalization is not warranted.

· Crisis workers will be responsible for completing a petition when client needs psychiatric hospitalization

· Crisis workers will assess the client for indicators of abuse, neglect, and trauma-related diagnoses.

· Crisis workers will provide crisis intervention in response to in-house codes that indicate someone is in distress during regular business hours.

· Crisis workers will provide case management, outreach, and engagement services as needed.

· Crisis workers will attend relevant training and meetings, some of which may be outside of scheduled hours, (but for which workers will be compensated).

· Crisis workers will be expected to perform administrative tasks in accordance with agency procedures, including accurate documentation.

· Crisis workers will be responsible for attending supervision regularly.

· Crisis workers will be cross trained on all crisis programs at Turning Point.

· Crisis workers provide crisis assessments and interventions at hospitals and in the community, including client's homes, schools, courts, community centers and anywhere the client is located.

· Crisis worker will use the Recovery Model

· Crisis workers are expected to be team players and help provide coverage sometimes when other team members are out sick or on vacation.

· Crisis Worker will engage clients from a trauma informed person-centered approach.

· Crisis Worker will engage from a culturally competent perspective.

· Crisis workers will collaborate within a team environment to provide best outcomes for clients served.

· Crisis workers will be assigned designated shifts each week during which time they will be expected to provide crisis intervention services (telephone and mobile response).

· Crisis workers are expected to work some evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays.

Competencies (Minimum Skills, Knowledge and Experience):

· Ability to be respectful of the diverse cultures of the people served and to provide culturally appropriate, competent, and individualized treatment in accordance with each client’s age, gender and gender identify, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, religious beliefs, and culture.

· Clinical competencies, including motivational interviewing, safety planning, crisis assessment, coping skills/techniques, de-escalation, brief substance abuse assessment, active listening, and emotional regulation.

· Vocational skills, including organizational skills, time management, self-care practices, communication skills, collaboration skills, conflict resolution skills, problem-solving skills and computer skills including Microsoft office.
