Job Summary: Responsible for supervision and provision of services to shelter residents and shelter operations, including security, during non-administrative office hours.

Major responsibilities:
- Create and maintain a supportive atmosphere at the shelter and function as an appropriate behavior model for residents
- Provide overnight and weekend supervision of residents
- Admit and discharge shelter residents
- Learn and follow proper procedures and policies
- Coordinate evening shelter activities
- Work with staff to provide appropriate residential services
- Monitor facility for needed maintenance
- Provide accurate records and documentation as required
- Provide adequate security for residents and facility during shift
- Respond to crisis hotline
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Three years work experience
- Knowledge of dynamics of domestic violence and sexual assault and some experience in shelter/residential setting preferred
- Valid driver’s license
- Privately owned auto with liability insurance and willingness to utilize own vehicle in job performance on occasion
- Ability to relate to individuals of any socio-economic level, race, religion creed, nationality, sexual identification
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients, supervisors, and other staff
Work schedule
Nights: 11PM-7 AM (Various scheduled nights, Sunday-Thursday)
Weekend: Friday 3 PM-Sunday 3 PM ( 48 Hours - A minimum of 1 weekend shift per month)
Holidays: A minimum of 1-2 8 HR shifts during holidays.
MUST BE ABLE TO WORK SCHEDULE REFERENCED ABOVE.
