Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, Experience in Domestic Violence, Social Services, Mental Health, Healthcare, Adult / Community Education, Business, or a related field
- A minimum of 3-5 years experience in direct client service and/or Crisis intervention
- A proven track record of achievement and a stable work history
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required, including large and small group public presentations.
- Experience with Microsoft Office and data base reporting programs
- Prior Case Management experience
- Previous managerial or project leadership experience
- Multi-agency, community-wide collaboration experience
- Experience in adult education, training or community awareness initiatives
- Volunteer recruitment experience
- Knowledge of outcome measurement
General Accountabilities
Direct Services:
o Manage crisis response program for survivors of domestic violence and their
families. This will include facilitating the community’s use of the TP 24-hour crisis
response line and responding to and directing a local system of crisis response.
o Collaborate with residential staff in regard to in-shelter clients, after care transitional efforts and linking community services.
o Develop and manage supportive relationships with clients over an extended period of time including case management and the identification of local support systems that empower DV survivors to progress toward a safer life and healthy interdependent relationships
o Complete client assessments and goal planning review.
o Provide clients with assistance for basic legal issues, including:
✓ Filling out and filing for Orders of Protection
✓ Supporting and accompanying clients at court hearings
✓ Referring clients to pro bono and private legal counsel
✓ Referring victims to police and prosecutors
Community Outreach:
o Regularly attend service area agency meetings and maintain effective relationships with local community partners and targeted key relationships including taking a leadership role and participating in community-wide domestic violence initiatives as needed
o Work toward systemic change in how domestic violence is viewed in the community
o Working closely with lead staff developing programing to serve special populations agency-wide
Primary Prevention
o Identify opportunities for DV training for agencies and volunteers within the community
o Work with staff provide specialized professional trainings
Administrative Duties:
o Maintain client service data and statistical information appropriate to service area and Turning Point as directed
o Collaborate with President, Vice Presidents, Grants Managers, and local funding agents to identify opportunities to fund and grow service area’s community based client services
o Assist Grant Department with reporting requirements according to funding stream
o If applicable, will work with local advisory board to plan and prioritize domestic violence services/programs
