POSITION SUMMARY

The Billing and Intake Specialist will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth admission processes and accurate billing operations. This position requires a compassionate individual with strong organizational skills to manage the intake of new residents, handle billing and insurance tasks, and provide essential administrative support.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Conduct initial assessments and intake procedures for new residents and outpatient clients, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed accurately.
  • Verify insurance coverage and benefits and assist residents with understanding their financial responsibilities.
  • Prepare and submit insurance claims, follow up on denials, and resolve billing issues in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all billing and intake activities.
  • Collaborate with clinical staff to coordinate resident admissions and discharges.
  • Provide excellent customer service to residents, families, and insurance companies, addressing any questions or concerns promptly.
  • Assist with other administrative duties as needed to support the facility's operations.

Requirements :

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in healthcare administration, billing, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in medical billing, insurance claims, or a similar role.
  • Proficiency in using billing software and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Addiction Treatment Expertise : In-depth knowledge of addiction treatment principles, evidence-based interventions, and best practices in the field.
  • Organizational Skills : Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Communication Skills : Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse populations and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Documentation Proficiency : Skilled in accurate documentation and record-keeping, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Regulatory Knowledge : Understanding of relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards related to addiction treatment and case management.
  • Problem-Solving : Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a capacity for critical thinking and adaptive solutions.
  • Cultural Competency : Knowledge of culturally specific treatment services and an understanding of how cultural factors impact substance abuse treatment and recovery.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, etc.); client (Procentive) software experience preferred.
  • Interpersonal skills and proven ability to effectively communicate and interface with executives, senior staff, and internal and external constituents.
  • Exhibits confidentiality in handling information that may impact the entire organization.
  • Ability to utilize discretionary decision-making.
  • Demonstrated intercultural competence.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
