Position: Full Time Shelter Advocate
Location: Woodstock, IL
Pay Range: $18-21/hour base pay. (After 7:00 pm differential)
Schedule: 32 Hours (4 shifts)
Available Shifts include.
Weekend Overnights and Friday evenings available

About Us:
Turning Point, Inc. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing comprehensive domestic violence services. We are seeking a motivated Shelter Advocate to join our team and make a difference in the lives of survivors.
Position Summary:
As a Shelter Advocate, you will provide crisis intervention, emotional support, safety planning, and case management to victims of domestic violence. This role involves coordinating services, conducting assessments, providing referrals, and ensuring 24/7 coverage for our shelter and crisis line.
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide crisis intervention and stabilization.
Respond to calls on the 24-hour helpline, offering support, safety planning, and referrals.
Screen for shelter eligibility and coordinate arrival arrangements.
Update and maintain accurate service documentation.
Provide counseling, case management, and group education for shelter residents.
Monitor shelter safety and enforce operational protocols.
Participate in staff meetings, supervision, and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice or Human Services (preferred)
1-2 years' experience in domestic violence or crisis work (preferred)
Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to multitask.
21 years or older
Bilingual (Spanish/English) skills a plus (Differential)
