JOB SUMMARY
The Assistant Program Director reports to the Program Director and is responsible for the supervision of staff, residents, visitors, and management of the Kennemer Male Community Reentry Program (MCRP) daily operations. The MCRP program is designed to help individuals transition from incarceration to community life and the Assistant Program Director is pivotal in facilitating this process through structured residential support and services This position supports the effective and compassionate delivery of care for residents within the MCRP.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Function as a member of the Kennemer MCRP leadership team and will assist in reviewing, planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating all program services.
- Assist with maintaining compliance with MCRP / DRP contract(s) scope of work requirements.
- Provide direction and training to all program staff to ensure understanding and compliance with existing agency policies, procedures, and MCRP / DRP contract(s) scope of work.
- Oversee data input within the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) Automated Reentry Management System (ARMS), assist with maintaining an accurate daily census.
- Ensure staff, residents and visitors comply with program policies and schedules.
- Review and audit case management services, records and resident progress.
- Assist with maintaining and updating on an as-needed basis a current written operations manual and resident handbook describing the purpose, philosophy, programs, services, policies and procedures of the facility. Ensure the manual is available to staff and the resident handbook is available to residents.
- Support the Program Director with facilitating staff meetings at least monthly to foster open communication, establish policy, discuss issues, ensure compliance with the Scope of Work (SOW), and accomplish program objectives. Ensure the meetings are documented with written minutes and include staff attendance.
- Assist the Program Director to maintain a resident Peer Reentry Navigation Network meeting to offer ongoing, peer driven support, assistance and guidance to residents. Ensure the meeting is offered monthly and fosters positive open communication between the residents and staff.
- Assist with recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and familiarizing new hires with contract(s) SOW, agency policies, program procedures, safety protocols, illness prevention, ethics, and confidentiality.
- Responsible to oversee the monitor schedule to ensure the program has adequately trained Monitors on the premises of the facility to provide 24-hour coverage, seven days a week to maintain the safety and security of all residents.
- Provide ongoing evaluation of supervisees, and give regular feedback on work assignment priority, accuracy, productivity, service quality, time management, career development, and any other functions related to work performance.
- Serve as liaison and agency representative to foster consistent communication, collaboration and partnership with the CDCR Division of Rehabilitative Programs (DRP) Program Analyst, CDCR Agent(s) of Record (AOR), West Care Specialized Treatment for Optimized Programing (STOP),
- Participate in Case Management Review (CMR) meetings to ensure a multi-disciplinary team approach is utilized to determine resident program needs, encourage pro-social behavior and monitor resident participation.
- Assist with maintaining the program Emergency Action Plan and provide ongoing training to ensure that all staff will act quickly and efficiently in emergencies.
- Will drive on Agency business as needed.
- Physical presence in the office is required.
- Manage cell phone use so that the Agency cell phone stipend covers all business usage. Any calls not covered by the stipend are to be made on a company landline phone.
- Ensure direct report staff follow the agency's timecard, PTO (Paid Time Off), and California's rest and meal period policies. Will monitor staff timesheets to ensure they are completed accurately.
