JOB SUMMARY
This position reports to the Program Director and provides therapeutic support and supervision to youth who have intellectual disabilities to help them meet their goals, under the supervision of the Program Director. This position will also be responsible for monitoring medication administration in the program.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in the accomplishment of the treatment plan for residents, under the supervision of the Program Director.
- Ensure all medication stocked and re-filled in a timely manner.
- Schedule and attend all relevant medical and psychiatric appointments.
- Train staff in medication administration.
- Monitor residents for side-effects and document and report accordingly.
- Order supplies and check deliveries; stock and maintain inventory.
- Maintain appropriate case recording documentation as per agency and contract guidelines.
- Transport residents as needed to daily living activities.
- Engage client's in a therapeutic manner and maintain healthy boundaries.
- Conduct work-oriented daily living skills sessions and re-socialization activity groups.
- Attend staff meetings as required.
- Attend job-related conferences and also participate in a variety of in-service trainings, seminars, and practicum.
- Participate in carrying out individual and group treatment programs for residents as part of the treatment team and encourage resident participation in treatment activities.
- Attend weekly supervision meetings with the Program Director.
- Motivate residents to develop self-reliance in daily living.
- Observe patient's physical condition and behavior; report significant changes to the Program Director.
- Responsible for ensuring staffing ratio is at a minimum by being able to work any and all shifts upon request.
- Respond to emergency health situations in appropriate manner as defined by emergency first aid training.
- Supporting resident's to follow daily schedules.
- Prepare and maintain a variety of records, and prepare reports, including actions of resident misbehavior and rule violations.
- Will think and act quickly and efficiently in emergencies.
- Will drive on Agency business.
- Physical presence at the program is required.
