POSITION SUMMARY:
TPRC is looking for a skilled and self-motivated Custodian. The ideal candidate will know how to take initiative and assume complete responsibility for the routine and non-routine work associated with the cleaning and maintenance of the facilities, vehicles, and grounds to ensure optimum functioning of Turning Point Recovery Center. ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Performs general cleaning and janitorial duties in all areas of the buildings
- Cleans and sanitizes daily in accordance with the CDC Rules and Guidelines
- Assist with minor repairs and building maintenance
- Assists in general carpentry repair, painting, and construction or remodeling projects
- Maintains overall condition of the building, grounds and parking lots.
- Delivers items or goods to the different office locations
- Moves furniture and equipment upon instruction
- Performs maintenance on equipment and tools
- Notifies supervisor of equipment and facilities needing repair or potential safety hazards
- Performs related work as required upon work order or request
- Inspects company equipment for possible problems and report findings
- Performs inspection of the premises and ensure that any hazardous conditions are immediately taken care
- Collects waste from ashtrays and bins and ensure proper waste management procedures are carried out
- Knowledge of safety hazards and proper use of various cleaning and sanitizing solutions.
- Ability to perform occasional heavy-duty cleaning tasks, such as shampooing carpets, waxing floors, or cleaning hard-
to-reach light fixtures.
- Proficiency in the use of hand and power tools.
- General knowledge of plumbing, heating, and electrical systems.
- Ability to work with hand and power tools.
- Familiarity with the fundamentals of electricity, electrical systems, and equipment.
- Capability to perform manual tasks requiring moderate to heavy physical strength.
- Self-directed and self-motivated once trained on routine duties.
- Personal initiative and mechanical ability.
- Ability to follow instructions, prioritize duties, and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in operating mechanical equipment.
- Capacity to understand and follow simple oral and written instructions.
- Ability to establish and maintain working relations with co-workers.
- Competence in completing necessary work orders and related forms.
- Strong time management skills.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma/GED
- Active and current driver’s license
- Two years training or experience in janitorial and maintenance related type work and one year of responsible experience in building and mechanical equipment maintenance and repair; or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience.
