Our client, a cabinet and door making company in Tacoma, is seeking a Microvellum Engineer to join their team. This role involves interpreting architectural drawings to generate CNC code and the necessary documentation for production. Additionally, it may require creating detailed shop drawings for submission. This position is 100% on site with relocation assistance available.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Evaluate drawings to determine the appropriate starting materials needed to modify and create custom products, utilizing Microvellum for custom product development.
  • Assign suitable materials to products, considering thickness, board sizes, and grain / pattern orientation.
  • Apply machining specifications to parts for all relevant hardware, including hinges, pulls, drawer slides, grommets, access panels, and row holes.
  • Generate well-organized nest drawings for use by machine operators.
  • Troubleshoot G-code and machine error codes related to CNC programming.
  • Collaborate with shop floor personnel to address manufacturing issues and drive continuous product and process improvements.
  • Interpret architectural and interior design drawings to create detailed 2D construction drawings using AutoCAD.
  • Provide accurate, detailed drawings that meet customer requirements and adhere to applicable codes and regulations.
  • Prepare comprehensive construction documentation, including drawings, cut lists, and Bills of Material (BOM), to support programming, machining, and assembly operations.
  • Develop and refine existing products based on established specifications.
  • Create approval drawings to ensure all critical product details are reviewed and signed off by the customer.
  • Submit a daily report via email to the direct supervisor by the end of the business day, detailing hours worked and project updates.
  • Coordinate with the supervisor to establish project timelines and work diligently to meet deadlines.

Qualifications :

  • Education or experience in AutoCAD and Microvellum
  • Millwork / Wood working experience
  • CNC Programming experience a plus
