What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assessment Counselor (part-time) position at Turning Point?
Turning Point is recruiting for a part-time Assessment Counselor/Addiction Treatment responsible for screening clients to determine clinical appropriateness for admission, funding eligibility, and performing the admission. Ensuring timely processing of all clients and resolving any pending issues that arise on day of admission. The workdays are flexible 2-3 days per week.

JOB DUTIES INCLUDE:
COORDINATE/PERFORM ADMISSION PROCESS:
- Manage the flow of the client admission process from reception through admission
- Complete paperwork and prepare chart for incoming clients.
- Coordinate between Nursing and Admissions personnel to facilitate information needed for client admission
- Screen clients and determine appropriateness of admission based on DSM, ASAM, and agency criteria.
- Assist referrals for client when admission is denied
- Assist team with tasks when needed or when requested by supervisor
- Provide updates and communication to family/referral sources
- Monitor team members' participation to ensure the training provided is being put into use, and also to see if any additional training is needed
- Cultivate an environment oriented to trust, open communication, creative thinking, and cohesive team effort
- Meet with referral agents when appropriate.
- Attend staff meetings.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor.
