Turning Rivers is looking for a fun, enthusiastic, self-motivated individual to assist in our kitchen/dining hall experience for all of our camp programs. This individual will be working with the Program Director/Executive Director to help serve meals to our camp participants/staff, keep a clean dining hall, and wash dishes. Kitchen assistants will help providing leadership with volunteers and ensure everyone has a safe/healthy dining experience.
Qualifications/Requirements: - - - - - Must be 17 years or older of age. A mature, capable, organized, clean and responsible person. Must provide the very best customer service, no matter the age of the person. Must be able to work with kids from diverse backgrounds through our different camps that are specific to “trauma-related,” experiences (family violence, loss of a loved one, parental incarceration) and families from diverse backgrounds. Must be willing to be trained by the kitchen manager on tasks Physical Requirements: - Requires the physical strength and stamina to live, traverse, and conduct activities on steep, unleveled, rough terrain—ability to lift or transfer objects weighing 50 pounds or more. - - Must be in good physical condition to move tables, kitchen equipment, food, and etc. Ability to stand on your feet for several hours It is our vision for Turning Rivers to provide the very best experience for our campers. In effort to provide the very best experience, staff must provide the following: Functions: To directly oversee the dining hall and kitchen operations. To help each camper have a quality, safe, inspirational, and enjoyable camping experience. To ensure the food preparation areas are clean and hygienic Washing utensils, plates, cups, silverware, cookware, and hotel pans and making sure they are stored appropriately. Sorting, storing, and distributing food/ingredients appropriately. Ensuring that food is stored/kept in appropriate temperatures either during serving or storing. Disposing of all food and garbage after meals, expired or kept out to long. Washing/Cleaning: all kitchen/dining hall service areas, kitchen and dining hall floors, and keeping the facility tidy.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 39 per week
