Banquet Captain

The Banquet Captain assists with supervising the banquet staff and helps coordinate all food and beverage services within the banquet department, while remaining actively involved in hands-on service alongside the team.

Position Responsibilities:

• Always coordinates with meeting planners and convention officials prior to event to ensure requirements are being met.
• Holds pre-function meetings to ensure that all employees have pertinent information and station assignments.
• Effectively supervises the activities of all Banquet Food Servers and Bartenders in the function rooms during assigned shift, ensuring all functional job duties are performed according to established departmental policy/procedure.
• Trains new employees in all F&B standards & procedures and ensures that all employees continually apply training techniques.
• Continually monitors banquet function(s) as assigned and informs Supervisor/Manager of any problems that need to be addressed.
• Demonstrates the ability to effectively address employee complaints.
• Accurately completes and signs for all stock requisitions.
• Continually works with all kitchen staff to ensure that food items are appropriately cooked and delivered in a timely manner.
• Attends BEO meeting in the absence of the Manager/Supervisor.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Must have excellent interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to ring in orders and settle checks on Point of Sale system.
• Previous Banquet Food & Beverage server experience a plus.
• Previous leadership experience preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $11.25 - $20.00 per hour
