As a Talent Buyer, your responsibilities will include identifying, securing, and finalizing strategic entertainment and experiential offerings for Turning Stone Enterprises and its various brands, such as Turning Stone Resort Casino, Point Place Casino, YBR Casino & Sports Book, and The Lake House. This position covers four casinos, numerous nightclubs, dining establishments, and bars to enhance brand loyalty, boost attendance, capture market share, and increase revenue from both returning patrons and new audiences.
Your Day-to-Day as a Talent Buyer:
- Being grounded in proprietary brand insights, guest research, and industry data, strategically program, book, and contract diverse offerings.
- Collaborate with departments, entertainment leadership, and key stakeholders to set goals and objectives, define measures of success, and prioritize entertainment initiatives.
- Develop long-range entertainment programming (6-12 months out) and short-term bookings (1 – 2 months) focused on brand pillars, attendance forecasts, and revenue objectives.
- Manage the booking lifecycle from planning, vetting talent, and scheduling to developing offers, contracting, ticket scaling, rider implementation, and settlement.
- Negotiate favorable contract terms that help to deliver a stellar guest experience, drive ticket sales, and lower the cost of goods for the best possible return on investment (ROI).
- Grow sustainable relationships across the entertainment industry to strengthen the pipeline of varied talent offerings, including music, comedy, magic, culinary, performance art, off-Broadway, sports celebrities, and new development production houses in local, regional, and national markets.
- Work with the Entertainment Operations Manager, oversee talent and programming budgets with fiscal acumen.
- Utilize and incorporate data into decision-making recommendations (guest satisfaction, industry trends, ROI modeling).

To Be Successful as a Talent Buyer, You’ll Need:
- At least 3 years of experience in talent bookings for performing arts centers, casinos, or talent booking agencies. Experience in large hotel venues, casinos, cruise lines, or multifaceted performing arts centers is highly preferred.
- To be an expert in programming multiple, simultaneous performances, ranging in scale.
- Proven track record of programming artists with high-demand ticket sales.
- Solid experience scaling tickets and working with ticketing platforms such as Ticketmaster.
- Strong relationship skills with a proven track record of building contacts in the entertainment industry across diverse entities, including artist agents, talent agencies, and production houses.
- Prior experience working collaboratively with business and legal stakeholders to negotiate contracts ranging in size and scope, and successfully detailing contractual expectations.
- To show expertise in negotiating favorable contract terms that drive revenue through volume and price while maintaining and reducing costs to deliver ROI.
- Preferable experience managing individual event and department budgets ranging from $400 - $40,000.
- Proven experience with accurately utilizing data and research to inform big picture developments while simultaneously identifying critical path timelines and the resources needed to deliver on multiple experiences.
- Excellent communication skills, highly organized project management efficacy, results-oriented mindset, and the ability to take initiative and lead projects.
- Strong work ethic, independently and in a team.
- Ability to stand/walk for long periods of time and lift up to 41-50 pounds.
