This is a non-exempt position with typical working hours of Monday-Thursday 10:00 am – 3:15 pm, and Fridays 8:00 am - 2:00 pm, though the schedule may flex depending on program needs.
The Program Assistant will assist in the support, coordination and implementation of structured, therapeutic activities and recreation designed to improve the overall function of adult clients with an Alzheimer's or Dementia diagnosis. They will assist clients in meeting individual service goals and provide for personal care needs. As a part of the Adult Day Services and Memory Care team, the Program Assistant is responsible for the care, safety and emotional support of Turnstone clients.
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assisting in the planning of individual and group activities
- Setting up and assisting clients with program activities
- Collaborating with the Adult Day Services and Memory Care teams on the creation of the monthly program schedule to include activities designed to engage clients
- Providing a safe and supervised environment for clients
- Encouraging clients to participate and communicate
- Documenting information for client files and maintaining required records
- Maintaining equipment and supply inventory for the program
- May occasionally need to support clients with personal needs and activities of daily living, such as transfers, ambulation, feeding, and bathroom care

Skills:
- Strong attention to detail, especially regarding patient documentation
- Displays patience, understanding, and care when working with clients
- Displays a strong attention to detail, with good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to maintain positive relationships with clients, their families, and other employees
Requirements:
- High school diploma
- Caregiving experience (preferred)
- Activity planning experience (preferred)
- Experience working with individuals with an Alzheimer's or Dementia diagnosis
- Must be able to lift, handle, push or pull 50 lbs. alone or 100 lbs. with support from someone else
