Montana Psychiatry is looking for a caring and compassionate RN or LPN to join our dedicated team of professionals. In this role, you would be responsible for providing direct patient care to our psychiatric patients in a clinic setting. The ideal candidate should be skilled in starting IV’s, have effective communication skills, the ability to work well in a team environment, open to learning new skills, and have a desire to make a positive difference in the lives of our patients. Key Responsibilities :
- Patient Assessment : Gather, document, and relay pertinent patient information including vitals, weight, psychiatric symptoms, etc.
- Medication administration : Administer pre-infusion antiemetic medications as necessary, IV ketamine infusions, and Spravato (intranasal ketamine treatment) as prescribed by provider. Monitor patients undergoing treatment to ensure a safe and comfortable experience.
- Patient Education : Answer questions and provide guidance to patients and their families regarding the medications and treatments used in the clinic, side effects, pre- and post-treatment precautions, plan of care, community resources, coping strategies, etc.
- Emotional Support : Provide a therapeutic environment that allows patients to feel understood, cared for, and safe despite being in a vulnerable position during treatment sessions.
- Documentation : Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, including nursing assessments, progress notes, and discharge summaries, following legal and ethical standards.
- Collaboration and Communication : Foster effective communication and collaboration with members of the healthcare team including psychiatric providers and other clinic staff involved in patient care.
- Quality Improvement : Participate in quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing the delivery of psychiatric nursing care, monitoring outcomes, and implementing evidence-based practices to optimize patient outcomes.
- Professional Development : Stay abreast of advances in psychiatric nursing practice through continuing education, professional development activities, and participation in relevant conferences and workshops.
