Job Description:
Turtle Creek Dairy, LLC is a mid-size dairy with a recipient herd located in South Central WI, searching for an experienced, hands-on Dairy Farm Manager to oversee the day to day operation of the facility. Turtle Creek Dairy operates as a commercial milking dairy with a maternity system focused on calving embryo recipients for a 3rd party client. The Farm Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of the cow herd, overseeing all staff and their operations, communicating with vendors and off- site growers, keeping records applicable to state and federal inspections, and ensuring proper procedures throughout the facility. This opportunity invites the right candidate to take ownership of this herd, working with the owners in broad decisions, to further advance the operation.

Primary responsibilities include:
- Work with cows and heifers in a manner that is the least disruptive to their normal routine.- Monitor herd health daily and oversee the identification and treatment of sick cows according to farm protocols.
- Ability to use or learn to use DairyComp305 and Boumatic SmartDairy is a must.
- Work with staff to schedule and accomplish daily, weekly, and monthly tasks in an efficient and safe manner.
- Oversee and orchestrate routine tasks for a dairy and subsequent data entry. Ex: weekly herd checks, synchronization shots, drying off cows, moving cows, vaccinations, etc.
- Oversee all staff and ensure proper protocols are being followed.
- Keep equipment and facilities in good working order. Communicate repair needs in a timely manner.
- Work with County and State departments to keep dairy in compliance with environmental and fluid milk regulations. Communicate with custom manure haulers, harvesting crew, and other custom companies as appropriate.
-Maintain inventory and orders of supplies and communicate with vendors.
-Develop relationship with calf grower and heifer grower with regular communication. Live, healthy calves are key to success of the embryo transfer sector of this dairy.
- Maintain a clean facility and working environment.
- Communicate regularly with the ownership group.
Required Skills:
- Dairy herd management experience (3 years) including herd health.
- Previous personnel supervising/ management experience.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Be a positive team player with a “can-do” attitude. Never say, “That’s not my job.” Lead by example.
- Willingness to work with, motivate, and manage Spanish-speaking employees.
- Record keeping skills.
- Problem-solving skills.
- Inventory / supplies experience.
- Ability to speak Dairy Spanish a plus but not necessary
SALARY: Based upon experience

Pay: $59,000.00 - $79,000.00 per year
