Applicants must be able to interact effectively with clients and fellow team members and work efficiently in a fast-paced hospital. Skills Requirements:

- Have patience, compassion and empathy for clients and fellow teammates
- Proficient knowledge of core wellness practices
- Proficient in obtaining samples for diagnostic testing (blood, urine, fecal, and IV catheter placement)
- Proficient knowledge of common laboratory testing and equipment
- Proficient knowledge of routine diagnostic procedures
- Proficiency in understanding normal ranges of patient vital signs, including but not limited to heart and respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure and oxygen saturation.
- Proficient knowledge of dental and core radiology techniques
- Proficiency in calculating medical math and medication administration via appropriate routes and duration.
- Proficiency in inducing, monitoring, and recovering patients undergoing anesthetic procedures, including the use of anesthetic/surgical monitoring equipment
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Attention to detail, follow-through, and accountability
- Proficient in safe and humane animal restraint
- Must be LVT, or have minimum of 2 years experience as a veterinary technician in a hospital environment or CVA II certification.
