Job Description

We are seeking a Parts Manager / Fleet Assistant to join our team.

As Parts Manager / Fleet Assistant you will play a pivotal role in managing the parts inventory and assisting the fleet manager in daily functions. Assuring that parts are acquired in the quickest and most cost-effective manner. In addition, assist in upfitting equipment to meet the needs of the job. Assist in tracking and scheduling repairs and maintenance of equipment.

Required Skills

Experience with parts inventory management.
Mechanical knowledge and aptitude.
Knowledge of MS Office Suite, Excel and Outlook.
Exceptional attention to detail.
Time management skills.
Ability to work under pressure.
Ability to prioritize work.

Preferred Skills

Knowledge of hydraulic systems.

Previous heavy equipment experience parts or operation.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Fleet Manager, the Parts Manager maintains inventory levels to support repair jobs.

Working with fleet manager in tracking and maintaining all equipment.

This role maintains key vendor relationships to provide the best service, quality and pricing.

Managing Parts Inventory.

Refresh and maintain inventory supplies.

Monitor and assign parts used to ensure stock is maintained.

Manage order lead times and supply chain issues.

Provide system updates (i.e. new part numbers, pricing).

Provide parts for jobs.

Source emergency parts for needs that develop during a job.

Create and track purchase orders.

Vendor Relationship Management.

Identify key vendors.

Remain up to date on vendor offerings and promotions.

Assess existing vendors and add or remove from Key Vendor list as required.

Employ a safety-first mindset and contribute to a safe environment daily.

Fully participate in all required training sessions related to position.

Support and train new or less experienced colleagues in work order or billing of materials processes as required.

Ensure compliance with all safety training, policies, practices and procedures and consistently apply on the job to create a safe work environment.

Report any potential hazards (e.g. faulty parts) or potentially hazardous conditions to management immediately

Ensure good housekeeping in all workspaces
