We are looking for a Lead Weapons Artist to be a part of our Weapons Art team. As a Lead Weapons Artist, you will be responsible for guiding high-level weapons art quality from concept to completion. The right candidate for this position looks for opportunities to mentor and coach their team, while collaborating across disciplines to ensure weapons are visually interesting, fun to play, and provide unforgettable experiences for our players. This role will report to the Character Art Director.
Responsibilities
- Lead Weapons Art team : Maintain consistency across the department, provide direction and feedback, ensure all team members understand their role and what is expected of them
- Work with Directors, Design, and Production to scope out and plan the weapons and supporting assets needed for the project
- Coordinate with other departments to create, design, and iterate on weapons and follow them through to implementation in the game
- Improve weapon designs based on feedback provided by playtesting, internal reviews, and adjustments in creative direction
- Collaborate with Weapons, Tech, and Tools team to build pipelines and tools to support and streamline the weapon process
- Create and maintain documentation and style guides related to the weapon creation processes, ensuring consistency and efficiency for both internal and external art teams
- Work closely with the department manager to provide mentorship and coaching for Weapons Art team members including but not limited to : 1 : 1s, career development, performance evaluations, and goal-setting
- Playtest with the studio and the Weapons Art team to review implemented weapons work in the game

The estimated base pay range for this role is : $135,000-$180,000 USD
